We’ve been hearing about Fox’s X-Men spinoff, The New Mutants, for a while now, and finally, it appears that the wheels are starting to turn on the project. Earlier this week, producer Simon Kinberg talked a little bit about the YA-vibe that the film is going for, and tonight, we have some potential casting updates to share with you.

According to HitFix, the studio is eyeing Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams and up-and-comer Anya Taylor-Joy for parts in the film. They’re also hoping to have Alexandra Shipp reprise her role as Storm from X-Men: Apocalypse.
As for the newcomers, Williams is said to be up for a “werewolf-like character named Wolfsbane” while Taylor-Joy could potentially step into the part of Illya Rasputin, aka Magik. Alongside them, it’s being reported that Fox is hoping to cast Cannonball, Sunspot and Mirage, thus completing the line-up of heroes who will make up the New Mutants.

Finally, HitFix mentions that James McAvoy will return as Professor X and he’ll have a substantial role to play.
The New Mutants, or X-Men: The New Mutants as it seems to be called now, will be with us in 2018.

Sorry ‘Doctor Who’ fans, Maisie Williams isn’t coming back

One of the best parts of “Doctor Who” Season 9 is gone from the series, much to the chagrin of fans. Maisie Williams has confirmed she’s done with the show, meaning Ashildr blasting off into space and time with Clara (Jenna Coleman) is the last she’s going to be seen.

Williams confirms the news to Bang Showbiz (via Digital Spy). “I’m not going to be working on ‘Doctor Who’ again,” she says. “Everyone’s hyping about it, which is very exciting, but I guess that’s more of a publicity thing. But no, I’m not going to return, I have a lot of other really exciting projects lined up instead.”

She did enjoy the experience though, telling Ireland’s TV3, “I had such a wonderful time shooting that series, it was really great to work with Jenna and Peter [Capaldi]. It was such a different experience to shoot working in blocks, because I work on ‘Game of Thrones’ and we do everything all at the same time so it’s a different way of working.”

At least fans won’t have to wait very long to see Williams back on their TVs. “Game of Thrones” returns to HBO on April 24.

Maisie Williams On Meeting Fans And Those Boyfriend Rumours…

Meet our gorgeous April cover star…

For our April issue, Team InStyle headed off to a studio in East London armed with a rail full of pieces from the best British designers, think Gareth Pugh, Preen and Erdem. The reason? To shoot our fave Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams AKA Arya Stark for our April Brit collections shoot. But that’s not all that rocked up to the shoot. There was also a van full of birds of prey. We’re talking real not stuffed. There was Arthur the European Eagle Owl and Alfie the Barn Owl but our fave had to be Maggie the Hooded Vulture who blushed bright red when she was having her picture taken. Yep, vultures actually blush! Check out a sneak peek of the shoot below plus stay tuned for even more photos coming tomorrow and the ultimate behind-the-scenes video next week…
On a personality trait that helps her play Arya…
‘I’ve never said this in an interview before, but yeah, I have a temper. And I hate it! But that’s what worked with [playing] Arya. I know what it’s like to be really mad!’

On if as an actress she has to appear perky and grateful at all times…
‘I always used to say and do the right thing,’ she agrees. ‘But as I got older and formed my own opinions, I said things wrong [sic] and got in trouble. After going through all of that, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m never going to please everyone and so I should just be happy. You know, selfishly, that’s really all that matters. I’m not going to go out of my way to upset people, but if someone asks an honest question I’ll give them my honest answer. So I’ve come back to that point where I don’t want to do the tits and teeth, but I also don’t want to be angry and mean about everything. I’ll just be somewhere in the middle where I can be myself.’

On if she has a method for dealing with fans approaching her at irritating times…
‘No. Well, my friends do, if we’re on a night out. If they’re quite pissed, it’s funny. They’re like, “It’s not her!” And I’m in this awkward position, since it is me. And I don’t want to upset anyone. But like I said, sometimes I’m really quiet. And so I’m stood with a fan and it’s like, silence. Sometimes they walk away and I just think, god, they’re really disappointed.’

On her somewhat secret boyfriend…
‘We’ve been together for over a year. I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious,’ she says in a silly voice. ‘He’s not famous. I met him at school. And now he’s my boyfriend!’ She giggles. ‘People feel it’s strange that someone who’s famous can go out with someone who’s normal. I don’t meet anyone else. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but I don’t go to all these parties. I don’t meet the other young, male actors.’ She pauses. ‘I just like normal people, I guess.’

Maisie Williams skydives for charity wearing a Harry Styles-inspired T-shirt

What’s a 15,000-foot free-fall to Arya Stark?

Maisie Williams leaped from a plane at the maximum possible height over the weekend in support of Mencap and the Dolphin Project.

Interestingly, the Game of Thrones actress was wearing a Harry Styles-inspired T-shirt, with a quote reading, “Does anybody like dolphins?” It’s a question Styles posed to San Diego concertgoers over the summer, and in response to the crowd’s roar of affirmation, he replied, “Don’t go to SeaWorld.” Williams agreed with Styles’ sentiment to the point of posting video of the PETA-pleasing moment on Instagram, urging fans to head to Dolphin Project’s website for more. (The T-shirt also mirrors a few of Styles’ many tattoos, though it’s sadly lacking an enormous butterfly smack-dab in the middle of the banana-colored shirt.)

Williams called for donations on Thursday, linking to her JustGiving page in support of Mencap — a U.K.-based charity that advocates for those with learning disabilities — and to her Crowdrise in support of the Dolphin Project. As of this writing, Williams has yet to reach her fundraising goal for the latter charity.

“I just loved spiraling fast through parts of the cloud and when you come out — it’s so beautiful,” Williams said following the experience. “I love the whole thing.”

Guillermo del Toro wants Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams to appear in Pacific Rim 2, if it happens

Earlier this week, Universal Studios and Legendary confirmed reports that Pacific Rim 2 had been delayed as development work continued on the upcoming sequel. Despite the film no longer being on Universal’s calendar, that’s not stopping director Guillermo del Toro from fan-casting the film as he wrote on Twitter that he’s got on particular “Game of Thrones” star in mind.

In addition to the upcoming sixth season of “Game of Thrones” set to air next year, Williams can next be seen in two episodes of series 9 of “Doctor Who.”

Pacific Rim 2 was originally scheduled for release on April 7, 2017 before being pushed to August 4, 2017 and ultimately removed from the calendar altogether. In a statement, Universal declared they were “committed to having ‘Pacific Rim 2,’” but that the delay was needed so the “creative team can continue in its efforts to exceed the amazing experience of the first film.”

Pacific Rim hit theaters in summer 2013 and grossed just $101 million at the domestic box office but went on to take in over $400 million worldwide. The original film starred Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, and Ron Perlman.

‘The Last Of Us’ Movie Cast Still In Question, Maisie Williams Confident About Ellie Role

Another game that is expected to be turned into a movie is Naughty Dog’s “The Last Of Us” and fans of the series are all excited to see what the film could offer.

Meanwhile, one thing that has been getting fans thrilled about is the casting news where various actors have been speculated as to who would play Joel and Ellie.

Screen Rant recently reported that although the Joel role is still vacant and actors are still being considered for the male lead, it is starting to look like that “Game Of Thrones” star Maisie Williams would most likely take on the casting role of Ellie in the “The Last Of Us” movie.

Sometime last year, Williams already confirmed that she already talked about the movie executives and that she is just waiting for an offer and confirmation about the movie.

“I had a lunch a little while ago and we spoke about the possibility of me playing Ellie and that’s really exciting and I would absolutely love to,” Williams revealed. “They announced at Comic-Con that we had spoken about it, and since then in like every interview people have been asking me about it.”

“Honestly I would love to and I think they would love me to play Ellie also, and that’s where it is at the moment,” she said. “There’s no script, no director, it’s still very early days for the whole project, but if it all goes ahead soon enough I think, yeah, I would love to.”

As for the role of Joel, “The Last Of Us” movie cast rumors point out that Dylan McDermott, Gerard Butler and Chris Pratt are being considered to take on the main role.

Although there are no official words regarding “The Last Of Us” movie even its cast, fans believe that the studio would start to work on it after the release of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” game on the PlayStation 4, which is scheduled to come out in March 2016.

August 30, 2015        Posted by Ann        0 Comments        Articles & Interviews did an interview with Maisie for Game Of Thrones few weeks before.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. –“Winter is coming,” is becoming synonymous with “death is coming” on HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Sunday’s jaw-dropping episode proved that no one is safe in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros — including the show’s star! recently caught up with the Stark Family standout, Maisie Williams, who plays the young Arya Stark on the hit HBO series, who said she was as shocked by Sunday’s gruesome plot development as the rest of the audience.

“My parents had read the books when I had done an audition for Arya… my mom was upstairs reading one day and she came down and was like, ‘You’ll never guess what they have just done!’ and I was like, ‘What have they done? What have they done?’ And my mom was like, ‘Well they’ve just killed Ned!’ And I was like, ‘What! They can’t do that!’’ Maisie recounted.

The battle for power between the Lannisters and anyone who would stand in their way of the throne reached a boiling point on Sunday night and cost former King’s Hand Ned Stark (Sean Bean) his life. Maisie told Access that she was excited to see all of the painstaking work required to film the gory beheading of her onscreen father.

“Filming it, it was a long day, but I think it definitely paid off and there was a lot of different angles. But they were all needed. Every single angle was needed, and every single angle was used. It was a great experience to see how it was done,” the 13-year-old actress said of the tragic beheading of Ned.
