Maisie Williams On Meeting Fans And Those Boyfriend Rumours…
Meet our gorgeous April cover star…
For our April issue, Team InStyle headed off to a studio in East London armed with a rail full of pieces from the best British designers, think Gareth Pugh, Preen and Erdem. The reason? To shoot our fave Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams AKA Arya Stark for our April Brit collections shoot. But that’s not all that rocked up to the shoot. There was also a van full of birds of prey. We’re talking real not stuffed. There was Arthur the European Eagle Owl and Alfie the Barn Owl but our fave had to be Maggie the Hooded Vulture who blushed bright red when she was having her picture taken. Yep, vultures actually blush! Check out a sneak peek of the shoot below plus stay tuned for even more photos coming tomorrow and the ultimate behind-the-scenes video next week…
On a personality trait that helps her play Arya…
‘I’ve never said this in an interview before, but yeah, I have a temper. And I hate it! But that’s what worked with [playing] Arya. I know what it’s like to be really mad!’On if as an actress she has to appear perky and grateful at all times…
‘I always used to say and do the right thing,’ she agrees. ‘But as I got older and formed my own opinions, I said things wrong [sic] and got in trouble. After going through all of that, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m never going to please everyone and so I should just be happy. You know, selfishly, that’s really all that matters. I’m not going to go out of my way to upset people, but if someone asks an honest question I’ll give them my honest answer. So I’ve come back to that point where I don’t want to do the tits and teeth, but I also don’t want to be angry and mean about everything. I’ll just be somewhere in the middle where I can be myself.’On if she has a method for dealing with fans approaching her at irritating times…
‘No. Well, my friends do, if we’re on a night out. If they’re quite pissed, it’s funny. They’re like, “It’s not her!” And I’m in this awkward position, since it is me. And I don’t want to upset anyone. But like I said, sometimes I’m really quiet. And so I’m stood with a fan and it’s like, silence. Sometimes they walk away and I just think, god, they’re really disappointed.’On her somewhat secret boyfriend…
‘We’ve been together for over a year. I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious,’ she says in a silly voice. ‘He’s not famous. I met him at school. And now he’s my boyfriend!’ She giggles. ‘People feel it’s strange that someone who’s famous can go out with someone who’s normal. I don’t meet anyone else. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but I don’t go to all these parties. I don’t meet the other young, male actors.’ She pauses. ‘I just like normal people, I guess.’For more check out the April issue of InStyle, on-sale the 3rd of March.
