Asa Butterfield and Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams will star in Arrivals, an indie drama from BCDF Pictures and Kalahari Film & Media.

Peter Hutchings, who helmed the high school comedy The Outskirts, is directing the feature, which is eyeing a winter shoot in South Africa.

Butterfield will play an American college dropout, working as a baggage handler in Cape Town, who happens to be a hypochondriac. He is forced to confront his fears when an unconventional British teen with a terminal illness, to be played by Willaims, enlists him to help her carry out her eccentric bucket list.

The screenplay, written by Fergal Rock, was a 2013 Academy Nicholl semifinalist.

BCDF Pictures is also producing the adaptation of Stargirl, on which Catherine Hardwicke just came aboard as director. The company was behind Bachelorette, the VOD hit comedy from Leslye Headland that starred Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan and Isla Fisher.

Kalahari is a South African production company with creidits that include District 9, Dredd, and the TV series SAF3.

Butterfield, who was one of the finalists to play the new Peter Parker/Spider-Man, is currently shooting STX’s sci-fi romancer The Space Between Us with Gary Oldman and Britt Robertson. He next stars in Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, coming out on March 4, 2016.

Williams is known for her acclaimed work playing Arya Stark in HBO’s Emmy-winning Game of Thrones. She recently appeared on Doctor Who and will be seen opposite Jason Sudeikis in indie drama Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.

Butterfield is repped by CAA, independent Talent Group and Felker Toczek. Williams is repped by WME and Louis Johnston Management.
