Sorry ‘Doctor Who’ fans, Maisie Williams isn’t coming back

One of the best parts of “Doctor Who” Season 9 is gone from the series, much to the chagrin of fans. Maisie Williams has confirmed she’s done with the show, meaning Ashildr blasting off into space and time with Clara (Jenna Coleman) is the last she’s going to be seen.

Williams confirms the news to Bang Showbiz (via Digital Spy). “I’m not going to be working on ‘Doctor Who’ again,” she says. “Everyone’s hyping about it, which is very exciting, but I guess that’s more of a publicity thing. But no, I’m not going to return, I have a lot of other really exciting projects lined up instead.”

She did enjoy the experience though, telling Ireland’s TV3, “I had such a wonderful time shooting that series, it was really great to work with Jenna and Peter [Capaldi]. It was such a different experience to shoot working in blocks, because I work on ‘Game of Thrones’ and we do everything all at the same time so it’s a different way of working.”

At least fans won’t have to wait very long to see Williams back on their TVs. “Game of Thrones” returns to HBO on April 24.
