Digital Spy panel Q&A – Game of Thrones

‘Game of Thrones’ stars Maisie Williams and Joe Dempsie in Blinkbox and Digital Spy panel Q&A.

Game of Thrones Launch on Blinkbox Event

Joe Dempsie and Maisie Williams attended the Game Of Thrones, which is only available on blinkbox, July 18. The event took place at the Tower Of London in London. I’ve added new pictures of Maisie at this new event. Many thanks to Lora for the HQ pictures!

She has a less than glamorous wardrobe in BAFTA-winning TV show, Game Of Thrones.
But Maisie Williams, who plays the stoic Arya Stark in the popular series, looked worlds away from her alter-ego as she posed alongside co-star Joe Dempsie at a party to celebrate Games Of Thrones season three coming to blinkbox in London on Thursday night.
Despite being the tender age of 16, British actress Maisie looked every inch a seasoned professional dressed in a simple Juicy Couture knee-length black prom dress dress and polka dot bow shoes.

She curled her short brown hair into sophisticated waves and kept her make-up and jewellery simple but wore a bright blue nail varnish.
Her co-star Joe, opted for a smart/casual look in a black buttoned top, slate grey suit trousers and weathered brown brogues.
As part of the festivities the epic HBO series blinkbox has even installed a giant dragon skull on Dorset beach, which stunned and inspired locals.
The imposing feature was inspired by a memorable scene in the show which sees Arya Stark discover a dragon skull in the dungeons of King’s Landing.

At this point in George RR Martin’s fantasy the dragons are supposedly long dead, but the scene provided the evidence that they may return, and features heavily in the upcoming third season.

The launch of Season 3 of Game of Thrones on the Tesco-owned blinkbox has given the entertainment download service a 632 per cent increase in sales revenue compared to the same day in 2012.

blinkbox has secured the third installment of the HBO fantasy series in HD ahead of its DVD and Blu-ray release in February 2014.
It is not available on rival services Lovefilm Instant, Netflix and iTunes, though can be found on Sky Go.
Game Of Thrones are the big nominees at this year’s Emmy Award, having totted up 16 nominations, including Best Drama Series.

Interview with Joe Dempsie and Maisie Williams

Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams has revealed she has told writer George R.R. Martin not to kill off her character.

She was speaking at the official launch of Season 3 of the HBO show on streaming site Blinkbox.

She said: “Every time I see him [Martin] I’m like ‘I don’t die do I?’

“And he just laughs, he does this little giggle, and I’m like, ‘no, you can’t do that.'”

“So you never know but if he did, that’s alright, we’ve had a great time,” she continued.

Her co-star Joe Dempsie (Gendry) wasn’t so worried about his character dying though.

He reckons going out in style is more important.

“I think the main thing is the method of death,” he said.

“If you had some kind of accident in Game of Thrones, that would really suck.”

The pair also had some advice for fans who are still mourning after the events of season 3.

“Get over it, it’s a TV show,” joked Dempsie, as Williams said: “It’s not real, so it’s fine.”

Games of Thrones Audition

‘GAME OF THRONES’ AUDITION TAPES: HOW ARYA, SANSA, AND THE HOUND SNAGGED THEIR ROLES

Before fending for their lives throughout every threatening absurdity that ensues on Game of Thrones, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, and Rory McCann had to vie for their respective roles as Arya Stark, Sansa Stark, and The Hound on Game of Thrones.
Prior to their emergence as their characters on the HBO hit show, the three future co-stars had to show casting directors Nina Gold and Robert Sterne their ability to deliver dramatics! Although the actors’ audition tapes have been around for quite some time, people, including us here at Hollywood.com, are just stumbling across them now. And are they ever impressive!
Prior to undergoing abuse at the hand of a**hole King Joffrey, a petite Sophie Turner showed up to her audition for stuck-up Sansa with a slightly messy head of strawberry blonde hair. And if you love Arya’s badass eagerness on the show, you’re going to get a kick out of watching all the sass Maisie Williams delivers while trying to snag her future role. And yeah, she’s pretty effing adorable too! Despite their young ages, these Stark sisters sure know how to impress a casting director… and us GOT fans too for that matter!

Before the GOT make-up crew painted his ugly wound on his face, a very-bearded Rory McCann tried out for his role as Sandor Clegane, better known as The Hound. After hearing his husky, yet utterly intimidating vocals and watching his mesmerizing charisma, we too would totally hand over the part of Arya’s kidnapper to Rory!

Watching these stars’ auditions is a great distraction as we restlessly await the next series of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams: 5 Fun Facts

Game of Thrones fans know Maisie Williams best as the most awesome kid in Westeros, Arya Stark, but, much like on the show, there’s a lot going on under the surface. Here are five facts about Maisie that even the most ardent GoT fan might not know.

1. She never acted before playing Arya. Although it seems like Maisie is a seasoned vet in the acting biz, GoT was actually her first gig. She was only 12 years old when she got the job. Can you say prodigy?

2. She considers herself a dancer. Maisie has become world famous as an actress, but her first love was dance. She attended Susan Hill’s School of Dance at age 10, and through this experience gained an agent, which eventually led her to the role of Arya. She then danced her way straight into our hearts.

3. She learned to be left-handed. In the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, the character of Arya is left-handed. Maisie is right-handed. Even though only the most hardcore fans would have noticed the difference, Maisie wanted to portray the character as accurately as she could. So she trained in sword fighting with her left hand. Now that’s commitment to her craft!

4. She has an interesting pet. It’s not a direwolf! Maisie actually owns a tortoise. His name is Barney and she describes him as “simple.” Maisie also claims that if she could warg into any animal, it would be him.

5. She inspires baby names. Arya was the fastest-growing baby name in the U.S. last year, and we have to think it was due to Maisie’s portrayal. Now how about some love for the actress? Let’s see some baby Maisies out there!
